You will find an incredible variety of neighborhoods and planned communities along the Nuckols Road corridor. The development of the area started in the early 1990’s with the Wyndham Planned Community. Wyndham quickly became Richmond’s best selling and fastest growing Planned Community. A 1200 acre development, Wyndham is comprised of just over 1600 homes and condominiums in a quaint neighborhood setting and is centered around Wyndham Lake and the exclusive Dominion Club. Over the past decade, scores of new developments have been built along the Nuckols Road corridor.
The real estate market continues to prosper along the Nuckols Road corridor. While inventories vary during the course of the year, there is a nice mix of new construction and re-sales on the market today. From the technologically advanced and renowned new Deep Run High School to four elementary schools situated within neighborhoods and a middle school just around the corner, our schools attract the finest educators, boast some of the highest test scores in the region and provide a wonderful environment for our youth.
In the spring each year the PGA Tour visits our community with the Nationwide Henrico County Open and kicks off an incredible season of golf at The Dominion Club. The Dominion Club, a private country club located within Wyndham, was designed by two time US Open Champion Curtis Strange and offers some of the most spectacular golf in Virginia including the signature double green at the 9th and 18th holes which run along Wyndham Lake. Just adjacent to The Dominion Club is Hunting Hawk Golf Club, a daily fee, public course which was beautifully carved out of a hardwood forest, along rolling hills and beautiful wetlands.
In addition to golf recreational amenities, activities and programs are abundant here. There are swim and racquet clubs in Grey Oaks, Twin Hickory and Wyndham, community and county parks, neighborhood playgrounds, basketball and volleyball courts and countless walking trails. The new Shady Grove YMCA on Nuckols Road offers the community a variety of fitness and health activities. We are also home to the Richmond Strikers Youth Soccer Association and to Striker Park, one of the nation’s finest youth soccer facilities.     In the Fall of 2003 our area celebrated the opening of Short Pump Town Center, one of the finest shopping destinations in the region. Stores such as Nordstrom’s, Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel and Franco’s plus restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory, Copper Grill and Firebirds are now just minutes away. Twin Hickory Town Center on Nuckols Road gives the community convenience with a grocery store, gas station, pharmacies, neighborhood restaurants, dry cleaners and other shops. The Wyndham area is convenient to many corporate developments including the Concourse at Wyndham and the 800 acre Innsbrook Corporate Park, home to 500+ companies and more than 20,000 professionals.
